  • Cool to see the footage from the arm 😀. This looked like it was a very frustrating job.

  • Use some of the hardwood trees that are destined for the burn pile and make your own pads. Sure they would end up being way better quality and last longer.

  • I could not tell what wood was used for your new matts, but i notice a few clips back that it was lighter in color than your old ones. I also noticed that every time you picked them up in this clip, the wood just cracked, it didn't matter how or which way you picked them up. Any pressure from the buck and I could hear the wood cracking. I saw some of your clips a while back where you uses matts and those look like oak. When you picked them up, they did not even care where you put the thumb and the bucket. Not a peep, just went with the flow. If you put the teeth of the thumb through these, I would just cut my losses and chuck them ( I know, easy for me to say), sooner or later with the weight of the excavator on them they might fail you and leave you wading through mud....

  • How do you decide when you are finished shoveling slime? LOL I suppose you could use a giant squeegee. Dairy farmers use large tractor tires cut in half effectively to scrape clear down to hard bottom. Seems like you could build something like that which the thumb could grab to do finish up.

  • What wood makes the best mats? And how do your keep them together? Is it a bolt through the beams?
