  • The info on flat roots/soil is one of those never thought of it like that. Don't play enough in the dirt on a large scale, but punched plenty of holes in ground for fencing to see different soil conditions.

  • Just to mention, pine trees wont grow tap root in any soil. The roots of a pine tree are always flat without that one and thats why pine is usually fallen down due stroms and so on rather than spruce that grows a really strong tap root. Of course if a tree grows over a rock or such it will alternate the way of roots growth, thats true.

  • A few weeks ago, you were showing us you clearing and building some new fencing around your property and mentioned something about an unfriendly neighbor being the reason. While I am a fan of the "Good fences make good neighbors" school of thought, I was wondering (no reply needed here) just how unfriendly might that neighbor have been? The reason mostly was I was thinking you happen to grow hogs on the side for additional income and had a memory of stories of the neighbor hog farmer. Seems around this time of year one year, he decided to spread his manure on the fields between crops. The smell had most of the neighbors talking for the few weeks it took to die down. If memory serves me correctly, he had a manure lagoon that he had used for this purpose. I just thought I might pass on a memory that might could help you in your situation should you ever need it on whatever land you have adjoining theirs. Thanks for the videos, Chris. Hope y'all have a good one.
